DANCES WITH WO...BEARS

I'm not sure, but yeah I'm pretty sure this is the best thing I've seen since the actually saw Fred Astaire dancing in Top Hat. Well its only January, but already the great actor Eddie Redmayne gets the prize for biggest sport of the year/best person. BLESS HIS COTTON SOCKS, its like Vanity Fair watched interveiws and thought hmmm one thing Eddie hates/ claims to have 2 left feet, dancing....DING! Lets make him Fred Astaire ahahaha He really gets into character though and hides his fear well. WELL DONE!

Click here to watch the video on Vanity Fair.

I normally do an anual post of Fringer anyway, its no secret that I get swept off my feet chills when I watch them. Recntly went to go see Top Hat at the Alywich Theatre which was spectacular, there is something about 50-odd people tapdancing on a stage that is just magic.I thought I would post a few uncut image/video moodboards I did for  project for the label CHLOE.

I did cut them together with all the good bits but can't find them right now, so these are just all the funkys.

SAVAGE GRACE

I really don't have any loyalty to this blog whatsoever do I....

These seem to be the only photos on the internet to be found of the Baekelands.

This film I watched because I started pursuing Eddie Redmayne's catalogue of films last year, after seeing him in BirdSong and My Week With Marilyn. I could go on about him and how much I thought he was a cocky old Etonian until I saw an interview with him and discovered he was a perfect, open, honest gentleman with both a Tony and a Olivier Award.

He is stunning in Savage Grace, a film based on the tragic story of socialite Barbara Daly Baekland. Be warned though, when I recommended this film to my mum and sister to watch and described it as 'a period drama based on the true story of a socialite', they certainty weren't expecting incest. Which is why I received a text near the end saying 'daisy what were you thinking, me and mum can't even look' haha poor dears.

Its got fantastic acting, costumes, sex, style, drugs, incest and rock and roll. YEAH

Poisen Ivy + Prada + Denim =

Drew Barrymore in Poisen Ivy = the sex.
Ultimate cheesy deathsy eroticasy teenagey 90's movie.

Found this gem in PRIMARK of all places, amongst many other elasticasted print tops there was this complete rip-off of Prada for no more than £3. Criminal!
Denim shorts from a 'Charity' shop in Santa Marta, Columbia.
Whole outfit less than £6- can you tell? ha

To top it off a new pair of creepers.

'Wont you believe in me'

This blog should probably be called 'Mermaid Obsession' from now on. However, amongst the panic and horror of the riots, one can't blame me for wishing I lived under the sea. These vintage movies of mermaids are enchanting, and some of the footage is simply be-a-u-tiful.

the best things...happen while we're dancing

Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire - Top Hat 1935

I am very disappointed in myself when I say that Top Hat is the first Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire film I've seen. Considering my childhood of old films and musicals, it seems almost impossible. Now I know what 'Fred and Ginger' means, I feel like I've discovered a whole knew world...and since this 'world' includes nine other toe-tapping movies to feed my knew obsession the couple will probably become a regular on this here blog.

Just look at these pictures, you don't get anything as wonderful as that anymore. That dress, designed by Rogers herself, so that it would emphasise her movement in just the right way, that is what fashion is about. The talent of this pair is astonishing in this day and age. Although it did bear resemblance to a fabulous dress I wore on a shoot for an equally fabulous designer/person Thidarat Kaha, who constructed the dress out of human hair and extensions, so I felt like a mix of Ginger Rogers and Maryann Forrester from True Blood.

"Sure he was great, but don't forget Ginger Rogers did everything he did backwards . . . and in high heels!"

Part Of Your World

A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.

-W.B. Yeats

Who would be
A mermaid fair,
Singing alone,
Combing her hair
Under the sea,
In a golden curl
With a comb of pearl,
On a throne?
-

Afred Lord Tennyson 1830
